Is there place for new players?

Hi everyone. I rly want to play PvP and some raids casually on WotLK. I was playing on Frostmourne realm but boosted raids killed the game for me, because I dont have time to wipe one raid 4 days a week, and then another 3 days of tbc raids from timewalking. I want to play WotLK that I remember from years ago, with little bit boosted rates to lower my time in game ^^

Generally my question is: As a new player, will I be able to have fun on playing battlegrounds and arenas on Icecrown realm or ppl with shadowmourne and other bis eq will be running everywhere and killing me with one hit? Will I be able to join any raid or will I need 6.5k gs to get invitation?

You can freely enjoy game in way that you like .
I'd say there are 3 types of raids here:
1. Guild raids, where ppl know what to do, how to gear chars, no inflated GS etc.
2. Booster PUG raids, where RL set things way beyond what realy needed and reserves all BoEs and other tradable goods for himself.
3. Progress PUG raids, where ppl either gear up or hunt achieves, just prove your knowledge + some decent gear and you are welcome to join (like you are not going for hundreds of Hit overcap just to have high GS).

Also in mondays and tuesdays there are lots of gear up chill pugs for first 4-8 bosses, for some gear and EoFs.

About PvP i can't say much, but you can enjoy some fun in WG or non-meta BGs like AB and SoA. WSG and AV tend to be HK farmfests for premades
