Decreasing stats

Hello, I have a question, does the stats decrease when I reach the next level? ,I ask because today I hit level 79 ,and my defense dropped from 544 to 533, and my expertise dropped from 19 to 18 .Does character level affect items? ,I didn't have any other type boosts, potions, flasks etc.

Yes, the higher level you are the more stats you need

Of coarse. With 100 Crit Rating on level 1 you will have 95% crit chance. On level 80 - another story.

If it didn't work like that you could wear level 20 gear at level 80.
