1. State of Blackrock

This post has probably been posted several times, but it seems the devs at Blackrock are either turning a blind eye or blatantly don't care. I'm sure a plethora of different players have given suggestions on how Blackrock could be a lot better. Removal of heroic gear, cough cough, shadowmourne. All things players have asked for years already. Other quality of life changes such as adding a 200 stack of soul shards for locks, for example, are the many things that have just been ignored as well. Of course, it's a bit absurd to compare old AT years ago to now, but they had a system that veterans and even new players alike seemed to have enjoyed.

While we are all aware that PvP is not Warmanes bread and butter, improving Blackrock will definitely attract new and old players alike.

  2. Why should heroic gear be removed?
What about Shadowmourne you're trying to say?
    QoL changes you/people actually want?
    Improving Blackrock, how exactly?

200 stack of soul shards would be nice (or even stack of 32 [or whatever was the amount you could have those]). Although it could be client limitation preventing it being done.

For a suggestion it seems more like a rant than a (pile of) suggestion.

  3. With Blackrock being integrated in cross-server, it should be really, really easy for anyone to realize and understand that any change that would create mechanical discrepancies will be automatically denied due to the incompatibilities it would create.

  4. PvE 284 is overtuned, this has been an issue, and pretty much every high-end PvPer can somewhat come to an agreement that it's game-breaking. Of course, Warmane has capitalized on that through donations. I'm not sure if you PvP much, but by the question itself that you're asking, you aren't familiar with the impact that Shadowmourne has. Old AT had a great system in place that allowed more diversity in arena brackets, through "legendary" PvP weapons, which could only be obtained through if I'm not wrong 2200+. Quality of life changes would yes, be adding 200 stacks of soul shards for warlocks, reagents for other classes, etc.

This isn't a rant, you just wanted to interpret it that way. These changes have been asked from higher-end players that have been playing on these servers for probably longer than you and most of these mods have.

  5. Understandable, but that feels like where the problem itself stems from. It's had great success, yes, but I feel like user feedback was not considered at all. I can understand you can never make everyone happy, but from someone who still talks to a lot of the veterans on Blackrock, the merger itself was not all that great in their eyes.

But to address your comment on understanding "mechanical discrepancies"... no, I don't think anyone would understand the limitations if they themselves are not part of the official dev team. Your comment itself was silly, to say the least. There's a variety of different factors and constraints the dev team might have that someone from the outside might not know of.

  6. I guess I overestimated you capability to "think about it." I apologize for that and will try to not do it again with you.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with "the official dev team." Some very quick examples:

    - "Remove PvE gear" -> cross-server against server that won't have PvE gear removed = nope.
    - "Remove Shadowmourne" -> cross-server against server that won't have PvE Shadowmourne removed = nope.
    - "Stacks of 200 Soul Shards" - > cross-server against server that won't have stacks of 200 = nope.
    - "Use 3.3.5b custom patch" -> cross-server against server that won't use a custom patch = nope.

Would realizing and understanding any of those require being part of the dev team? Maybe I'm being "silly" again expecting the answer to be no...

  8. -Removing PvE gear? Basic reading skills must not be your forte. I never said that, please re-read my statement.PvE gear is a staple in WoW, I understand it has its place in this ecosystem, downgrading PvE gear is clearly what I was referring to. There was no room for interpretation.

-I stated a fact about the impact Shadowmourne has in arenas. War/Pal, for example, has been rank 1 on the ladder for how many years? Let's break it down now....

-I made fair points, and you twisting words is making you seem shallow. When referring to the dev team, I’m talking about far more complex things than “X doesn’t work because of Y.” I’m talking about system databases, architecture, etc.

I hope this clarifies the confusion you had :)

  9. Agreeable, I think the point of my post stems from just remembering a much better system. Wasn't perfect by any means, but it wasn't like this either.

  10. Ever heard that phrase kids hear a lot, "the world doesn't revolve around you"?

Blackrock players have been complaining about the presence of PvE gear there for years. You didn't say "removing PvE gear"? Putting aside your "Removal of heroic gear, cough cough, shadowmourne," you also said nothing about 3.3.5b. Yet, I used that as an example, because those outside the scope of your bellybutton have.

  12. Now check the PvP ladder - 90% Blackrock - how they can be separated if they nerf the items there? How long will be the queue times on Icecrown? Frostmourne? How far people will reach before start to wait 2 hour queues?
That has a lot more to do with players from Icecrown and others creating characters to focus on PvP in Blackrock, than players who only ever play Blackrock, which you fail to account for.

  14. My point (also fact) is that Blackrock is there to serve Icecrown and every other realm with priority having better days and won't ever have own logic behind.
We cannot ask for anything different at the end of the day, because it's just subdimension of Icecrown where you can earn all the gear for free and still participate in PvP with same players so yes
Your "fact" is incorrect. Blackrock existed long before cross-server was implemented, these requests existed long before it was included in any cross-server, and they already were declined at those times. The only difference is that now, with it being part of the cross-server pool, chances of it getting anything implemented that would mess with the already tenuous parity are more than likely none, while before it could be argued maybe perhaps who knows something like that might be changed.
