Should attempted ninjas be reported even if they fail?
There are several instances in RDF and group loot raid PUGs where individuals try to sneak a need role for their off-spec without getting permission from the group. Should we still submit a report to discourage that behavior even when they fail the roll? Will it lead to anything material or is it just a waste of time?
Example:
2 warrior are in an RDF group. 1 tank, 1 DPS.
DPS weapon drops, tank and DPS click need. Tank did not ask if he could roll need at any point.
DPS rolls 98, tank rolls 56. DPS wins weapon.
Tank didn't technically ninja since they lost the roll, but attempted to do so.
i would ve asked him first why he rolled need, if he gives an ******* answer which basically telling the party because he can or want it without considering other people who actually roll the spec and need it, then i'd report with the screenshot of the conversation regardless the outcome, cz imo its should be considered as disrupting others gameplay.
its different story if he asked permission before rolling or he clicked roll by accident.
That's a good point there. In the latest case when this happened, the tank was told specifically that if he won the roll for the DPS item, he should immediately trade it to the DPS player that needed it because of precedence. He basically told us he was doing nothing wrong. Maybe there needs to be a way to put up the rules somewhere in-game so that people can't plead ignorance.
I once reported such attempt and gm told me that they only punish those that win
It's better this way. It's only conspiracy theory until something actually happens. You can't prove they did it on purpose, and trying to be mind polices would just waste staff resources.
