It could be done offcourse but it will be a buggy mess barerly playable taking many years for any nonblizz developers to script with their own code, Warmane have stated before they are not intrested in releasing new expansions servers just for the "looks" because the game itself will be 99% bugs.

i played Shadowlands and it was actually not bad, had a pretty decent story and quite a bit of content but I dont know, I just get bored as hell after the 30 days sub is up and cancel. The only thing I would do to improve WOTLK is add a Raid Finder but there's many people who are against that. Either way it isnt too hard to get into raids once you get relatively geared up.
