I just logged in today after like a year, played for an hour and then I started getting the "Unauthorized software or modifications to your game client has been detected" message and now I'm banned for 7 days. WTF ? Since when are HD textures not allowed ? Last time I played It was working fine, didn't get any bans, now I wanna play again and I get banned for 7 days for something that wasn't banable before ....

This sounds really strange, almost fishy. I'm not accusing you of anything, but there are literally tons of people who are running with HD textures and are just fine.

HD textures wouldn't get you banned or get detected as "unauthorized software or modifications."
Whatever got you banned is something else, which fits that.

I was using a wow I downloaded from another server, maybe it was because of that, the only custom patch I had was the HD textures one. Meh, downloaded a fresh copy of wotlk and will use that from now on. I applied for an appeal but I doubt I'll get unbanned ... lesson learned.

The ban duration is about the time it takes to get an appeal answer.
