I stopped playing some years ago but after a short meeting with some friends we decided that we want to play WoW again on this server and I was curious if i can recover my old account.
Searched in my mailbox and received a mail that my email address was changed but it wasn't me who changed it. The notification email below (received in August 2018):

The link provided has expired i guess; Also i didn't pay attention to this as i stopped playing at that time . . . but i definetely didn't give my account to anyone - i dont know how or what changed the email address of my account. Is there any possibility of retrieving my account so i can resume playing WoW on your server on the old account without creating a new one?

Dude, you received email about it with details of what to do if it weren't you. What else do you need? Go and send them email with information that proves your ownership of account.

I did send an email as instructed in the mail but i havent received any reply yet. Also, i was curious to see if this will work as i have replyed to an email after 4 years. As i mentioned - i took a wow break.

So you think that post on forum sub (which is specified to be place of players helping players) will somehow help you to skip queue of all other mails they receive from other players? Making you number 1 in line and probably sending you personal assistant who will be comforting you both mentally and physically?

Why the harsh treatment? I'm just trying to find out if my old account is still available for me to play? I'm just asking for help and ur being a bit rude with such a reply.
I followed all the steps from the original email but i haven't received anything . . . hence my post. I just want to know if i can have my old account recovered and if so if there is an ETA or smthing ( i don't know the process/procedure).

There's usually only one person answering the emails so it might take a few days to get a reply.

Yes, i might be seen as harsh, rude, aggressive hillbilly redneck. Which is result of all people who rush to make post about their unique problem (that gets posted and answered on daily basis) or to ask for special treatment of their case (which is their own fault 99% of times and which is usually can't be reverted).
All of this because people refuse to scroll/read for 5 minutes and find long existing solution.
Go, look at recent posts. In many of them guys OhieMitzen or Shred92 are just copy/paste same links and answers.
