1. Reason why RDF lacks of Tanks (unpopular opinion) Icecrown

Been playing 4 years on this server, and people will say otherwise but i don't care what im about to say is real and based on experience, PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO TREAT TANKS, and if people is waiting even half hour to find a tank is your fault, toxicity and bs is the reason why noone wants to play tank, if u are a gearing warrior lacking of single target dps because a shadowmourne dude is doing 15k dmg on boss to finish fast and he dies is your fault , if ur a dk a gearing dk and u miss 1 mob people is gonna spit on you, yes and pallys if u play pally tank people assume u aggro anything and will pull a lot without ur consent and blame you if they die, better start as dps and roll os for tank OS ICC items if you want to tank RDF and even like that you can get a toxic ****ty group, found a couple of good groups out of 100 and that the reason why u the mayority of players are not tanking RDF my pov "iS a SkIIL IssUE NUuv" -same toxic bis rogue who got oneshoted for not giving ToT and voted to kick the tank and resulted in dungeon off because couldnt find another tank in 15m

  2. It's unfortunate to hear that you've had these bad experiences. One of the best ways to improve rdf is to have even one person you know beforehand queue with you, whenever you get a good group try to chat with them a bit and add them to your friends list. It's a pretty low barrier to whisper someone if they're up for a dungeon or two even if they don't specifically remember you.

It's usual practice to let the tank do the pulling on rdf, it's on the dps if they pull something and get killed by it. Heroics also start to depend slightly more on a good healer and skill of the players since dps will grab aggro and take damage more often and most melee dps can do a little tanking as well.

Informing your team of what they're doing wrong is important, people usually answer with about the same energy so you'll probably get better answers with something like "dps try not to pull" than "STOP PULLING ***** AR YU TANKJ?!?"

Cheers hope you get better groups in the future, just know that some of us actually appreciate it when a tank finally queues up

  3. it's the same on lordaeron. Firstable people forgot rhc mean you can be with really low gear, new player,...
when people got overgear, they just don't care about tactic or whatever because for them it's easy. So they just play "alone", focus on skada or recount to see big number. When you adapt, like I did you are considerate as weak or you don't know you to play. (This is exactly what others dps said when they saw I'm not doing 10k+ dps with my mage 6k+ in dungeon. My answer is simple if I really dps most of tank can't sustain my aggro, so I lower my dps. My goal made it's easier and smooth for others.) This made tank role really hard on rhc.
Then come the toxicity and meta-slave. If you play other tank than dk, paladin or healer like hpriest. You have to face people who kick you, insult you, give you crap advice,.... And it's became worst on raid. So people don't even try now because they know at one point you'll be lock.

  4. As a tank in any dungeon over lvl 70 I go with "You pull it you tank it". If I have threat issues (like my dk is dumb at aoe) I will ask dps to hold off or watch their threat.
Everyone is made different (with varying skill levels and ideas) so I try to be civil in dungeons, but if you do stupid stuff and someone asks you to stop and you continue you can find the door as a dps.

When I queue as a dps or healer and I notice any issues, I ask if they need us a group to do something different. Had a prot pala one day trying to tank without Righteous Fury up, warrior said "Screw it I'm tanking" he swapped we finished and all good. Shaman healer didn't understand how The Black Knight worked in TOC5, we explained after the wipe and tried again and finished.

Any dungeon or raid group I try to be cordial and go along, if they do wierd/stupid stuff I ask a question and depending on the answer I leave (regardless of my role and how far in we are). It's a game, if I'm not having fun I can find some other use for my time.

People complain about the "lack of tanks" but if as a class that can tank you won't invest in tanking I think that's semi on you. I mean you can tank heroic dungeons in blues/starter epics and put all your badges/gold into gearing a dps spec and raid as that.
