So the thing is, my pet is fine, he just randomly stops attacking the mob I tell him to attack (it happens in pvp too), and then instantly starts following me, I don't press anything he just does it on his own. I have tenacity pet - crab to be specific. Is there any solution for that or any explanation why is that happening?
There are a few possible reasons why your Hunter's pet might be randomly stopping attacking and following you.
- Your pet might be on passive stance. To check this, open your pet's abilities bar and make sure that the stance button is set to "Defensive" or "Aggressive." If it's set to "Passive," your pet will not attack anything unless you specifically command it to.
- Your pet might be out of range of the mob you're trying to attack. If your pet is too far away from the mob, it will not be able to attack it.
- Your pet might be stunned or feared. If your pet is stunned or feared, it will not be able to attack anything.
- There might be a bug with your pet's AI. This is a possibility, but it's less likely than the other reasons.
To fix the problem, you can try the following:
- Check your pet's stance. Make sure that it's not set to "Passive."
- Make sure that your pet is in range of the mob you're trying to attack. If it's not, move closer to the mob.
- Use a spell or ability to clear your pet's stun or fear. If your pet is stunned or feared, you can use a spell or ability to clear the effect.
- Relog your character. This might fix any bugs that are causing the problem.
Here are some additional tips for troubleshooting Hunter's pet problems:
- Pay attention to your pet's health and mana. If your pet is low on health or mana, it will not be able to attack as effectively.
- Use the right pet for the job. Some pets are better suited for certain types of content than others. For example, a crab might not be the best pet for PvP, but it might be a good pet for solo content.
- Use pet abilities effectively. Pet abilities can be very helpful in combat. Make sure that you're using them to their full potential.
Tbh my pet is put on passive yes, but I always give him command to attack, it's not like I expect him to attack on his own, also if pet would be feared I would notice it, he just runs back to me as if I pressed 'follow' but I don't do it when I want him to attack. And it's not the range problem, he is always in melee range when it happens, sometimes half way to the target, but mostly in melee range so it's not that. I use my pet's abilites effectively for example i use Cower when he is attacked by many mobs. I think it might be AI bug, anyway thanks for your advice but the things you've pointed out are not the case, except for maybe that AI bug. Also what do you mean that crab isn't good for pvp? Charge + Pin = ultra CC combo, on top of that you can have 2x disengage with Wing Clip macro if u need distance and he's pretty tanky cause of tenacity tree. Could you tell me what is the best pvp pet for MM hunter in your opinion? To my mind it's exactly the crab :D
good point, I will check that, thank you! But if anyone else has something to say about my problem, feel free :D I will post an reply when I manage to fix that!
I checked my keybinds and didnt find anything that is causing the problem, but I have another question, what is the difference between those two keybinds?
To be specific:
- secondary action button (on which i have pet attack command, just like a skill on action bar you know)
- pet attack
Is there any difference between these two?
This sounds a lot like the old "loyalty" system that Hunters had to deal with before some 3.something patch removed it but kept the happiness system.
At the lowest loyalty level, pets would run away after a while of not feeding them, as if you had abandoned them. But they would never refuse to attack. It's possible that you are thinking of Pokémon...
I found the problem, I guess. It seems that if I don't have straight line of sight on my target, my pet after attacking once just comes back to me, I suppose it's to prevent getting your pet killed if you can't even attack for example when an enemy is hiding behind a tree. Thanks for your answers though!
