I woke up this afternoon and wanted to log on to play WoW. My audio was working fine as of yesterday, but upon logging in today, my audio is incredibly scuffed. It is dull, popping, and staticy, with some ringing as well. I have tried lowering my audio sample rates (which idk why thatd be the issue, if it was working fine the past year), that did not work. I tried re-installing warmane, that did not work. I have tried going into the game itself and changing audio quality, de-selecting headphone mode, etc. None of these work.
Before someone says my headset is dead, that is not the case, it is working perfectly well on every other platform besides WoW. Youtube is fine. All my steam games are fine. Its just WoW.
I have recorded a short segment with recording software to see if it was my headset (it's not) and the actual game audio itself (it is), and it does reflect in the video itself.
Disable any audio enhancement effects. Whether it's via audio control panel or other audio software.
While you're checking your audio control panel, check your audio format from advanced tab. IIRC 44K Hz or 48K Hz was recommended.
As stated in the message above, my audio rate has been the same and unchanged from 48k. I have gone through all the options and this issue still persists. Mind you, the audio is only scuffed when selecting the audio path to my headset, if audio is sent to my PC speakers, it is fine. There are no audio enhancement effects present, nor does enabling or disabling them change the outcome. It is only when pathed to my headset now does it do this, and has only done this as of yesterday, with no changes happening between the time of it working and now. My headset is fine, as stated above also, and works perfectly when using other games or sites such as youtube.
