1. Warlocks and Demon Names

    Hi, and Thanks for reading

Many Warlocks struggle to get their demon's names right, and it's a real pain.
Or they just abandon, knowing it will be very hard and time consuming to get the names they want for their demons.
And stick with names they don't like.

Every single time I roll a warlock I'm starting again a hundred times, just to get my imp name right.
Then I delete my character again if the name of my Succubus or Voidwalker is way off from what I would want them to be.
It's a hassle. For those who would like to enjoy a perfect start, and long term satisfaction playing the class.

When playing a warlock, my Demon Name is a part of my character and my identity.
It is very important to me to have it set, to enjoy everything coming next.
And I enjoy the game so much more when my demon name is going well along with me.

I've been thinking of ways to resolve this problem, and I'm pleased to share it here.

My suggestion is to be able to buy a Scroll on the Warmane shop, being able to pay Warmane to have this Scroll.
And spend The right amount of coins / money - judged correct from the staff.

And the properties of this Scroll would be a 24H time to rename demons every 10 seconds on the character receiving the scroll.
Which would prevent to start again a character forever. And have a better way to have it set.

Exemple : "Scroll of the Twisting Nether" - "Bind a new demon from the Twisting Nether"
    "10 seconds Cooldown, self-destruct after 24H"

Would really love to see this implemented anytime soon.

  2. From what I know, in wotlk you can use the command ''/script PetAbandon()''. Then you summon the minion under a new name.

  3. Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I've tried this many times already.

  4. While not an awful suggestion per se, I can't personally see this being implemented, much less in the short term. This is niche on an extreme level, despite your claim that "many" struggle with getting a name they don't like on a pet.

  5. I have never even read names of my demons, seems like a weird thing to worry about.

  6. There once was a player whose succubus name was Uganda. It amused me.

It's personally an issue I've encountered many times in the warlock community across every private server I've played.

I'm for sure not the only one with this need.
As blizzard implemented this function in the next patch of cataclysm, just after the version we currently play.
To have the option to change our demon name for 50G at the Pet Trainer or Class Trainer.

If blizzard implemented this in the next patch, it means this request was quite usual.
But often on private servers except Vanilla, people doesn't even ask for it, because it's simply not possible,
    In between Vanilla and Cataclysm.

On Vanilla servers, the script to abandon the pet used to work.
That's why we often find this request usually on Vanilla servers.
Warlocks on Wotlk aware of this, generally know this command is not going to work here.
Then they just go on with the game. Or do what I'm doing.

  8. You're the first person I can recall bringing this up in over ten years working here, so excuse me for being skeptical about the amount of people finding this an issue.

Still, either way, what I said remains: this is an extremely niche request, about allowing changing the name of specific pets of a specific class for specific people who want a different one. The fact you suggest it as something for Coins means it would not only be custom content to be implemented in the game for the sake of, again, an absurdly niche request, but also have integration with the webpage, meaning game devs and the webmaster both would be required to work on this.

Is it impossible that maybe it happens? No. Would I hold onto any hopes for it? Not at all.

  9. Oh whee, two people, my mistake.
    Guess it's high priority now.

I agree with you that I doesn't represent the majority in any way,
And If I'm the only one talking about it here in ten years, then I completely get why this suggestion might be put aside.

I'm not trying to push anything.

Just making a suggestion that would be important to me from my view.
And the most useful from my view only, in the hope it could help a few other players sharing this issue with me.

    Thanks for answering

  11. I may add that creating this option for the Majority of players would give them the opportunity to use this option.

And create the need for it, when they learn about it.

It could benefit, either people like me who are really bothered.
People who are bothered but doesn't write about it and don't complain.
And people who doesn't care at first but finally thinks, hey that's cool, I can rename my demon's to my taste.

So even if it is very unlikely to see this idea implemented,
I still thinks it would be well received by the community.
People could learn about it and use it if they feel the need for it.

Just another view to point out that everyone playing the class could enjoy that option.

    Good evening
