WotLK Beginner classes

I'm a first timer, so would be nice to know which classes are good for noobs (including specs, preferably for pve)

Fire mage, fury warrior, combat rogue

These specs have no big responsibilities in raids, no pets to look after, have high damage and are needed in raids.

Arcane mage is bad, try to whipser a raid leader with "Arcane Mage 6.5k gs" you will be instant ignored and reported.
