WotLK heirlooms

I have problems ingame, my leather heirlooms dont turn mail. I trained my hunter to wear mail, logged out and in but it still doesnt work. Is there something im missing? Maybe i cant do it on the heirlooms i got?

If those are leather heirlooms (druid/rogue), it will remain Leather.
