Ello! dear warmane, can we not release the cash shop on launch or phase 1? let guilds and people progress through with everything possbile they can get before raids pop out and go with it. If shop releases before phase 1 raids comes out people are just gonna min max and want geared people only for raids and that's gonna ruin the experience of the launch.
so here's my suggestion: release Cash shop when BT comes out, and let it be karazhan, gruulz lair and Magtheridon gear drops. this way when the BT comes out everyone or most of the people are already geared and even when players go and buy things from shop no one will complain.
The server is maintained by donations from players, it sounds great to say not to open a shop at the beginning of TBC, but if we want to enjoy a "FREE" game with a minimum of responsibility on Warmane's part, that's what's in order, donations.
What a coincidence, but usually those who ask the most or complain the least are those who contribute the least to keep this project going.

now now, im now complaining. I'm saying release it at BT launch for phase 2. no one said anything not to use or buy from cash shop.
what are you on about?
With each phase, gear from the previous phase becomes available on the shop a few days to a couple weeks afterward. So yes, phase 2 (SSC/TK) gear will be available sometime during phase 3 (BT/Hyjal). As far as "on launch" I honestly don't remember if any gear was on the shop before MC/Ony opened, but even then it was only dungeon gear. MC/Ony gear was put on the shop after the release of BWL. And so on.
Please no, not cash shop. Cringe to see TBC server being a P2W server.
If you make donations that would surpass each and every Coin people would use on Onyxia, therefore maintaining the server on your own, we can probably consider it.

Why should I be held responsible? when Icecrown has enough Pay to win people?
I'm just looking for a decent TBC server, this may not be the one if people gonna just buy their power. Big L
There's been no begging. It's literally their business model. Nobody's forcing you to play here.
I was just asking with all due respect by the way. Didn't mean to offend by any means. Sorry if it sounded rude or something.
I was just curious considering we're talking about basically the most famous private server which is played by thousands of players and i find strange that they are forced to carry out a business model like that in Onyxia. I honestly don't like it but I guess it is what it is if we really want to enjoy TBC content for free

You can only buy items from previous tiers, most of BiS items you can't. If you play actively you will have most of them before they appear in store. Its pay to catch up in case you start late, make alt or aren't too active. It pays the bills of server while still not being P2W which is fair for both players and developers in my opinion.
Obnoxious, do you know if the Store system remains the exact same for TBC? Currently it felt like we are 2 phases behind on gear on the store for the majority of the time during vanilla.
From what I can tell currently, we would only get T4 items midway through T5 (and to be honest, who needs it that late).
If I remember correctly, back on the first TBC realm we were able to buy T5 items during T5 (after the item was looted 15-20 times or some random number).
Would be awesome if you could share some information about it, maybe I am misinformed since I did not play vanilla very actively.
I can't say about the exact same, but I'd tell you to expect something similar, with gear there being for catching up.
Even if released closer to the content it would still only be added a while after release, so the main way of gearing up remained to be playing the game.
