Hey guys,
So I'm completely perplexed as to how/why this is considered a good tool for self mana return the way people go on and on about it. Yes you can get a small amount of additional mana back if you shield yourself and are struck every 12 seconds or so enough to break the shield, but here I am specifically talking about the 2.5% mana refund when the shield is broken/dispelled.
So here's the maths:
I have 22,200 mana. 2.5% of that is 555. That's great, but the shield itself costs 666 at any given rank. Please note that I am using the standard Disc healing spec and thus have all relevant reductions in mana cost. This places me at a loss... so when people go on about this so called Rapture trick or Rapture in general, I fail to see how I can possible benefit from it, since down ranking is no longer a thing?
What is the trick? Essentially stacking 5 or more party members with a shield before a timed AoE effect strong enough to break all shields in one go occurs, meaning once it occurs, you are instantly paid back 2.5% mana from all shields because the game begins its internal cooldown slightly after mana calculation occurs, thus bending the rule.
That's great, but 5x666 = 3330 mana... and i still only get back 2775... so I just lost 555 (one proc total) doing this to quote "get back fat mana procs"...
I believe this talent is an excellent tool for mana refunding, but not recuperation - that simply isn't mathematically probably without a minimum of around 26,750, and even then, its only refunding like literally 2-3 mana... making this entirely meaningless.
If I am missing something here, please dear god inform me what it is, this is driving me crazy. I feel like either every Priest suckling the teat of Rapture is either insane or I'm mentally deficient, one of the two.

Just to reiterate, I am not talking about having your own shield being popped, as that obviously does increase your mana.
