1. raid difficulty changed to 40 men in pre-patch

    Dear Warmane,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to strongly urge you to maintain the 25-man raid difficulty for the pre-patch period. This will allow players to experience the content with the new talents, which many of us are eagerly looking forward to.

A lot of players, especially those who play weaker vanilla classes, have been anticipating this pre-patch as a chance to test out the new talents in familiar, old-world raids. However, most guilds, mine included, are not prepared for 40-man raids at this time. Switching to that size would make it difficult for many groups to enjoy these last two weeks fully.

This pre-patch is one of the final opportunities for us to make memories in Vanilla with our guilds. The experiences we have now will likely shape our overall impression of the expansion to come. Please don't take that away from us.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Best regards

  2. you wont need 40 players to clear it.

  3. Indeed, but doing the content as is now is the fun part, as we can have a direct comparison of our character's power levels before and after the new talents

I understand the desire for it. I really do. But unfortunately, due to how our architecture is designed, we'd have to recode how the raids function for just 2 weeks, because otherwise it's either you get TBC pre-patch or you get 25-man vanilla raids - not both. Given how inconsequential the raids are during this two week time period, we decided it's best to save that development time and put it into TBC proper.

  5. I understand, I did not believe the issue was technical in nature. I agree that development time should be used for the much more important TBC release.

This is a good change, to be honest, as it will reduce the amount of "raw" gold injected into the economy. 25-man raids like MC, BWL, AQ, and NAXX will be easily cleared with a handful of people once we get decent TBC gear.
