Inscription: Did the drop rates for uncommon pigments change when milling herbs?
Hello,
I use milling almost every day as part of my Inscription profession to make inks and from them to create Darkmoon Cards and Glyphs.
Recently I have noticed that the milling ratio of uncommon pigments (Icy Pigment, Ebon Pigment etc...) have changed dramatically, the chance of getting them literally dropped to half compared to past years.
I couldn't find any information regarding this change in the most recent changelog. Did I miss something?
This wouldn't be a huge problem because lower level uncommon inks are worthless anyways, but the ink made from Icy Pigment (Snowfall Ink) is the most valuable ink in the game, because extreme amounts are needed to create WotLK Darkmoon Card Trinkets in a reasonable amount.
This means people in this profession will have to buy twice as many herbs to mill, this will mean increased demand and herb shortages, which leads straight to increased herb prices, which will not only affect the price of Darkmoon Cards, but also the entire flask and potion market will have to raise their prices as well.
People will soon adapt to this change and Darkmoon Trinkets will cost at least 2x more compared to their current prices, but I think even 2,5-3x more because not only will people have to buy twice as many herbs to create a Darkmoon Card, but because of the increased demand the herb prices themselves will rise.
Of course the market regulates itself, the profits are still going to be made, but for newbies wanting a decent starter trinket from the AH this will certainly be unfortunate. A Greatness Card is already 6-8k, now it'll be 13-15k+.
It's true, I also mass-mill Icethorns to sell inks and it literally halved. Before you always had a 100% chance of getting Icy pigments from superior herbs (icethorns and lichblooms), now it's like 50%. It also halved from regular herbs. The same thing happened to JC prospecting some months ago... Prospecting used to yield a lot more uncommon gems, then it just halved for no apparent reason.

Thank you, finally some confirmation from somebody else!
I hope the person who reviewed my bug report about this and said "Must've struck bad luck" also reads this! Because there indeed was a change and Warmane is saying nothing about this!
