Another idea is to make auto turn-in for quests like in dungeons and put them in order such that you have a chance to complete more than 1 quest in a single bg.
Example:
-Collect all wsg buffs > auto turn-in & pick up while in a bg
-Kill a player with berserker buff in WSG > auto turn-in & pick up
-Capture a flag in wsg
Followed by a similar kinda thing in AB
This way, If you have a good group or are lucky you can go through 2-3 steps per 1 bg
Or were those kinda quests only added in cata? Idk. but it's an idea
Actually nvm. After doing a few quests again on my alts i was hit by a post-BG clarity and i have to say, this sucks so badly. It's unfortunate because i can see the effort you guys put into it with the custom RP quest texts/stories for each boss and everything but this just doesn't work for an arena realm, imo.
Among other issues, It's TOO many quests. Should be like 4-5 max for the whole thing (kara+mag+gruuls)
I think you guys correctly recognize that it's important to not make it too easy for the blackrock players to get pve loot and not create imbalance in gear between onyxia and blackrock players. So having pve loot come from boxes and have RNG just like in raids is not a bad idea.
Just make the quests be based around arena more than BGs. And make those based around BG's be more generic to stimulate activity and keep BG's alive.
Example: 5 quests chain.
step 1 - turn in 10k honor. reward - box with random loot from trash mobs and bosses up to curator
step 2 - win x1 of every BG (or 2-3 diff ones at random each week). reward - box w random loot from curator+illhoof+aran+chess
step 3 - win X amount of games in 2v2, possibly above X mmr or smth. idea being it's based on 2v2. reward - box with random loot from netherspite, nightbane and price
step 4 - based on soloQ. reward - box with random loot from maulgar + gruul
step 5 - based on 3v3. reward - box with random loot from magtheridon
