hello,
So after some years i came back to play in my old account, now that Christmas is near, wanted to play with my nephew now that he is 10yo, wanted to show him the experience of playing WoW.
So i came back to my account, to notice i had a DeathKnight with a weird name with numbers.. but thats ok, ill delete it.. but my original character is named like aefeaf or something... that wasnt my name, pretty sure it was Andriene or Andriane... whats up with that? can i have my name back?
I notice you can change your name with coins, but i mean it was not my option to have my original name removed. i then went to check the achivments to see if someone had hacked the account and played on it, but seams normal to me. nothing weird.
Can any GM help me out?

You could still play your old DK.
To do so you need to perform Character Restoration* - https://www.warmane.com/account/services
*This form of Character Restoration can only be done within 48 hours of deletion. Other limit is you can only do it once per week on your account. Further Character Restorations will cost coins.
Once done, open up the game, and try to play that DK, it should prompt a rename.
Since your character had its name removed, somebody may've taken your name. Just give the DK another name.

Well thats ok, its not my prio. my prio is my main char was renamed for some reason i didnt choose.. want my name back. i dont know why it was changed in the first place, i haven't played for some years.

i understand i can rename it with points, but points coste me real € doesnt it? the thing is it got renamed for some reason, i dont know how or when.. So my real question is, can i have my name back without spending € since it was not me?

Either it was you and you do not remember, or your account was compromised.
Are you sure you're on the correct realm?

If the name is already taken by other player, there's nothing you can do but wait, and hope that the name becomes available in the next Inactivity Cleanup.
Check armory if the names are taken by other players, or if it's just a case of logging wrong account.

So there are Inactivity Cleanups, maybe thats what happened... and my character name was reseted and someone took it?? maybe... well there are 2 characters with the same name in the armory. Maybe it was that.. damn i guess im stuck with eafaef.. smh
Could be worse... right? hehe well thanks for the reply's anyway.
