WotLK ICC Solo Reputation Grind not working

I want to grind Ashen Verdict rep for the ring but because no one else in the server wants to do that I'm trying to grind it solo.
I'm already doing what I have seen on the tutorials by luring the mobs to the friendly NPCs but I don't get any reputation at all, even if I'm DPSing the mob the whole time.

Am I doing something wrong or it's Warmane that disabled the option to grind ICC mobs solo?

I am not sure about the correct amount, but you have to do a certain % of damage to get experience/reputation, probably 50% or even more, which is impossible if you have the NPCs kill the mob.

I guess that's the reason. I saw old guides and forum posts saying that you only needed to do a few hits to the mob to make it count, but maybe it was pre 3.3.5 and it got patched? idk.

Well, at weekend there were some players for ICC rep farm (not many but enough) and I already got exalted.
And indeed if the NPCs hit the mob too much you don't get any reputation and loot, so I got jebaited by this old *** tutorials and forum posts from 2010 saying that it was possible.
