1. Arms PvP: very low damage

My current gear is as follows. Everything is gemmed for arpen and fully enchanted.

This character is only used to play battlegrounds. My damage is not just bad, it is pitiful. I know it is a very popular class and I would like to make it bis, but the low damage plus the reliance on healers to dispel snares and roots is making my experience with this class very irritating.

I am looking for suggestions on what order I should be replacing the gear to maximise the damage I do whilst I can make it bis. Thanks.

  2. To lack "damage" on this gear it's either bad uptime, prioritizing or poor utilization of your bleeds, mainly rends in order to get more OPs (before you get confused and start arguing it's about the timing of the proc) - abilities in general - eg poor gameplay on your end.
What do you mean by low damage anyway? Are you expecting to 3 shot people, or kill DPs in one bladestorm, because playing this class for the past 10 years and I can tell you it has one of the most solid outputs out there + your gear is not that bad either, excluding few items, but good enough for the environment you're trying to play.

  3. ye what do u mean low damage, the gear is fine. its most likely uptime problem, which is common.

thats warrior life for you. every other class has fancy magics and tricks, warrior is just a mere mortal man too angry to die, lol. in bg warrior is the first one to cry about healer. doesnt mean the class is bad, it just need healer to enable the class to deliver those crazy pressures and ms bot at the most up time as possible. whereas hunter does it with easier time.

u can just copy any warrior on the 2s arena bracket in armory for that.

  4. Thanks for your responses. You are right, I should have described what the problem is (or what I think the problem is).

I am not considering "scoreboard damage" here, although it's pretty bad too. I'm talking about abilities outputting bad damage, but of course I have no idea what the damage should be, which is why I'm asking. For example, my Mortal Strike (which I believe should be one of my hardest-hitting abilities, if not the top one) usually outputs a damage of 1500-2000 on plates. I guess I'm missing a lot of arpen, but I'm not sure.

So I have to open with Rend, sometimes Hamstring, then MS - that means that for the first GCDs I have only output 1 white strike + MS which is like what, 4K tops? Being a bit hyperbolic here: by that time, either the enemy is cloth/low resi and therefore dead (killed by my other teammates), or he's a tanky platter and, with my low damage output, I'm far away from applying pressure and being useful.

That's a big issue. A healer is not always available and if he is he is not always competent enough and if he is he is not always free to focus on dispelling you. I have a full pve hunter and it's probably the most enjoyable class to play in battlegrounds - it's no wonder they are everywhere.

I think loading on FAPs could also work but that would make battlegrounds very expensive :-)

yeah, healer isnt a role for most people but thats the thing about arms in bg. if u only care about winning and dont care about damage, consider playing full resil prot warrior to actually contribute to the team by disrupting the enemies like the 2nd dude on the most hk leaderboard, i mean those nasty ccs man, alot can happen during those seconds of ccs and giving 30% dmg reduction to a team member for 6s every 30s is huge. or have another spec for it and switch back to arms if theres healer on your team like the 3rd dude on the most hk leaderboard. theres always hunter who does the healing cut and pressure better anyway.

yeah, cuts heal, ccs, interupt enemy contributing for the team from safe distance. and the dude with the most hk is hunter too lol.

    true, fap-ing is too sweaty.

  6. You need more PVE items to get more dmg, on which realm you play ?

Your offset should be PVE, less resili but more power, the thing with warrior is, you need to reach level where you have bag full of equipment and change it depending on situation ( duel with specific classes, what you want to achieve in BGs ).

When you reach ARP, CRIT, HIT rating cap, you will rock.

Thank you. I will take this advice. I'm in Icecrown but I intend to pay for the pve gear as I have no interest in pve. I know about all the gear I'm supposed to keep; I would like to try in the future a 1500+ resi prot build as well, for which I will need all the pvp offsets I currently use.

Regarding gear, a question to everybody reading. All warriors seem to have the same set of gear, except for the second trinket; some players use WFS and others use DBW. I am inclined to get DBW but I am not sure of what to do.

  8. dbw if u need the arp with 1/3 chance of getting haste proc, wfs for more constant ap proc

  9. Yeah its clearly a you problem. I've played every class in pve and pvp and warriors are the most broken garbage they ever came up with. deep wounds ramping up with every new crit, overpower every 3 seconds that applies a mortal effect. MORTAL STRIKE, overpower a cast with mortal = 75% healing reduction ontop of overpower having a 100% crit chance and hitting for 5k+ goodluck healing. OH did I mention you have a kick aswell? tdlr if ur not doing enough damage its just your rotation that needs work.

  10. If you want send me or write here your ingame name, i'll catch you if you are horde.

  11. Last time i checked, Awarrior was doing fine. shredding trough everything like paper. here is what i focus on, early on :

-crit (at least 35% or more)
    -agi (the more the better)
-arp (trinket proc + gems needs to reach 100%)
-ap (usually strength items+gems or ench like berserker)
    -res (900 at least )

sometimes i'll add a bit stamina in there to look more buff ;) don't forget to maccros everything, can't miss those proc you know. and mortal strike btw, is definetely not the hardest hitting ability. overpower do more damage, heroic strike do more damage, even slam probably too lol. but yeah one thing i've noticed is the amount of bots in bgs so sometimes bubbles and whatnot absorbing your damage is annoying

  12. Thanks panicstrike but I'm in the alliance.

I am going to get more gear to replace the weaker pieces and see how it goes.

Having Oathbinder, I suppose it's not worth it getting SM until I've replaced the rest of the gear, especially the pieces that do not give arpen?

its cherry on top, Oathbinder is more than enough till u master the class and really sure about maining warrior. u're gonna switch to shield very often when stance dancing anyway.

  14. In order to top the BG dmg charts you should use glyph of SS and BS.
Wait for double trinket proc and then use SS+BS.

I am complaining about single-target damage. I don't want to be, you know, that kind of person
