Technical FPS not as high as it should be on high end rig?

Hello,

I've been encountering issues with my new pc build when it comes to the warmane client and the FPS I'm getting.

Before I go into details about my spec, I'm aware that the client has limitations and is not really optimized for newer hardware. The FPS im getting is not that bad, 200+ usually, but falls to like <135 in darnassus etc which hurts because I use a 144hz monitor. Is there really no way to optimize it a bit further?

What I've tried so far:

- Graphics on lowest settings, didn't improve the situation at all
- Disabled all addons
- Played around with the timingMethod CVAR
- Cleared cache
- Using Large Address Aware

My spec:

- Intel i7 13700k
- 64 GB DDR5 Kingston Fury
- RTX 4070 OC
- Samsung 990 Pro evo 1 TB ssd

I don't expect 1000 FPS, but I'd like that it not drop below 144 (excluding highly populated areas like Dalaran etc). I think in Darnassus I should be pulling at least 200.

Exactly why I posted. Googled for hours. This worked like a charm and now im chilling at a casual 300+ fps. Thanks man.
