I have been playing for a few months gearing up my 2 characters, the good old hard way on icecrown. Its been a rough grind but i can proudly say i have two 5k toons on Horde with some decent PVP gear. Its taken A LOT of lost BG's to get the honor for my furious sets and it really has been a soul crushing grind getting to 5k gs.
Today i realised that this whole time ive been playing against Aliance blackrock players! i thought blackrock was a guild or something because the insanity of doing cross realm pvp like that just didnt occur to me.
I see that when people ask about this the threads just get locked so i assume this is a sore point already and i dont mean to pick at scabs, but can someone please explain to me what logical reason there is to have two completely different games pvp against each other?
Is there any way to opt out of cross realm pvp?
Does this insanity only apply to battlegrounds or are arenas, wintergrasp etc also victims?
It's a little annoying when you're gearing up sure, but later you appreciate it because it decreases the que times by ALOT. Yes, you see these players in arena, and no, you don't in WG. It's not a big deal, really. Any and all problems you have in BGs can be solved by simply getting a small premade together.
Also, you can mix ICC gear+ do VOA to bump up your GS by alot. Admittedly, Furious is pretty bad for where the server in general is at RN but you can get Relentless gear for EOFs.
Also, depending on your class/spec it's often better to just go for a glass cannon DPS build without much pvp gear anyway.
