1. [Request]: ARENA - Boost Rates (points and ranks)

    Realm: Icecrown

Request: Boost the speed at which you generate Arena Points (give more reward for each game won)

Reasoning: This is a private server with already adjusted & boosted rates for XP x7, loot drops and I "think" honor points for battlegrounds (unsure but seems like it from what I remember from OG WoTLK. Why is it Arena Points & Rank seem to generate so slowly? Lets get to the "FUN" of Open world PVP and BGs with balanced gear more quickly!

When I played OG WoTLK, I was ~20 years younger. I was not married and have kids and busy life. I had more time to grind battlegrounds and Arena. I want to enjoy my free time just playing PVP without all the grind. There is a HUGE gear gap for PvP if new class / character. I am fairly new to Warmane, decent at my class as I have played it for years, but so easily I am killed by someone with superior gear easily, when I would outmatch them in skill. I have 6517 gearscore, but mainly all PVE gear. I have been grinding Arena casually the last 2 weeks and still havnt gotten my first wrathful piece of gear.

PvP is what I enjoy in the game, but ARENA - I have always hated. I would just do Bgs all day in my spare free time or go looking for some fun open world PvP but nope, gotta grind out this ARENA for Weeks.... even tho I can max level my character 1-80 in 2 days, playing casually.

A while back a few friends of mine thought about creating our own private server, where everyone could just have max armor for very little work - just so people could have fun playing PvP. Actually started the process but never finished.

final thought: I have already invest ~$700usd donations supporting warmane, while giving to friends and helping gear up. I would have preferred this had gone to gear that benefits me more, as I don't do PVE / raiding etc.... only PvP. Ultimately, I want to stay interested and have fun, but if playing WoW becomes more like a "job / chore" than I'll get disinterested and stop playing

  2. As a relatively "new" WoW player, I agree. Personally, I enjoy grinding up levels on characters, and the 7x experience rates (IMO) are the perfect balance when it comes to the time required to level from 1 to 80.

But like @V3XB4NE stated, the arena/pvp gear grind is ludicrous. It would be awesome if the rates of arena/honor points were increased. Even if they are already increased from vanilla (I've only been playing WoW for the past 3 years on/off and haven't had much experience in end-game pvp), then maybe they should be increased even more.

I do like that PvP gear CANNOT be purchased in the Warmane shop, as it gives incentive to actually play PvP for the gear. Just wish it didn't take as long. Playing arena for 2- 3 weeks and not getting one piece of gear is very frustrating, especially when I want to play this game as an escape from the monotony of real life. If this guy really did donate $700 bucks for gear, that shows how willing people are to skip the grind.. or.. at least shorten it.

  3. If you had $700 to spend on PvE gear then you can also buy PvP gear, 50% with donations and 50% with farming, you will get it fast.

  4. If you had $700 to spend on PvE gear then you can also buy PvP gear, 50% with donations and 50% with farming, you will get it fast.
Care to elaborate? "fast" is subjective. If what you are saying is true, I would have already purchased on the shop the whole wrathful pvp set and what I could buy, I already have - unless Im missing something you're talking about. As I said, I have only been playing casually and 2 weeks with a friend, I still dont have 1 piece of wrathful gear from vendor from "arena rank and arena points" - as you need both.

Playing a mage as a main, Im probably one of the squishier classes, that get targeted first in a DK / Mage duo. Plus not having any PvP gear already against groups like druid / pally duo, DK / prot pally duo and few others, our win ratio is less than average, increasing the time it takes to get the rank / points needed even longer.

Battlegrounds on the other hand, you can't "lose rank, or "points" like in arena, you either gain honor or you dont. Plus, it doesnt matter anyway because there is where I have fun, win or lose - as well in open world pvp. Arena is just trash in comparison and a horrible system for getting the end game PvP gear - that I have never agreed with.

Like I said, I dont want to be spending all my free time playing just grinding gear in the most hated part of WoW for me. Arena is stacked odds towards the comp team, as its proven certain combos are "top" in world records in official for a reason. Thus it's a imperfect and unbalanced system, favoring those classes.

I also don't want to waste all my free time only leveling up and gearing up one class. At this rate, with little free time I have, No idea when I'll get to gearing up or leveling other classes to enjoy. It's just a waste of my time.

  5. Um did you just use an alternate account to agree with yourself?

You're supposed to get Relentless gear first which you can get from battlegrounds or from emblems of frost. This game doesn't care if you like arena or not. Doesn't care about your personal time. The game is just the game. You earn Wrathful gear by defeating skilled opponents in PvP combat, not the bots you see running around battlegrounds. Or you can jump in VOA groups each week. Not that much different from PvE, there's only so much you can do a week and there's a skill threshold.

I get it cause I don't like arena that much either. I play battlegrounds only as well. And to that I would say some classes and setups actually do better in PvE endgame gear in battlegrounds than in PvP gear. A bis PvE fire or arcane mage in battlegrounds does so much damage that resilience doesn't save players. A bis PvE hunter with Arp cap can top the charts in a game easy. Very common these days actually. So if you are a mage with great PvE gear already then just spec for damage output and maintain your range with your allies soaking up hits and it's gg. You might die more, but you'll also get an insane amount of kills.

Killer is the friend mentioned in OP, that plays with me (DK)

"this game doesn't care....." this is a private server tailored a certain way for a reason, thats why there is 7x boosted rates and boosted rates and loot drops. It can be adjusted depending on high demand of preference, balance, QoL or the like - however the developers chose to implement.

damage output is not always the concern, as pvp gear is more to prevent incoming damage mitigation + help with survivability. The survivability matters just as much to me, because in 1v1 or other scenarios (open world especially) - sometimes "playing with your prey" is more fun than actually killing them and "playing from distance" - on the sidelines casting fireballs is not really my style playing as a mage.

you're right about hunters... I would have preferred they stayed in their place like 1-60 :P

  7. i dont think the ap boost necessary, if u only need the gear pieces with having limited time and dont want to sweat or try hard in arena, u can absolutely do it.
just farm gold, sell em with undercut price on the site, then buy the pieces. that way is actually less stressful and much quicker than doing the actual arena. even if that said ap boost implemented, u'll still gonna have to dodge play hoping the grind run smoothly to reach the rating requirements. and the gold selling method is still gonna gear u up quicker.

you can't buy all the wrathful tier 10 gear with gold / points, it must be earned grinding arena points + arena rank... if im wrong, please show me where you are talking about

u can buy every endgame gear on warmane site, not with the gold/points, but with coins where u got from the gold u farm and sell on warmane trade.
u just need a 10c worth of donation for premium account to use the warmane trade, which u already have.

so if u just want the pvp gears and skip the arena hassles, the quickest alternative is by the gold way. same goes with pve gears if u dont want to experience raiding bull****ery.

  10. the downside of farming gold is just boring af, i personally hate gold farming, but i hate re-grinding arenas for alts more. and thats the only quicker way to start having fun with my toons in the main bg bracket.

  11. so tldr, doing arena or raiding isnt the only way to obtain the gears. u can also utilize the warmane trade to get em quicker by selling gold/toons with achievements/etc.

i believe thats also one the reasons why people keep botting and get banned. cz if u experieced enough with every aspect of the game, earning coins though warmane trade for gears is kinda easier than actually obtaining em ingame

there're even some guilds selling boosts/shards/achieves runs/etc for gold for the same kinda reason.

I've spent $700 usd already for coins to make purchases on the site, if they had been there and Id seen them, they would have already been purchased, so please tell me exactly where I find them on the shop, please be specific, because they are not there for me. I would never had written this thread. A picture / screenshot would be helpful. For Season 8, Tier 10, Wrathful Gladiator's Armor.

Thank you so much. I feel like a fool. When I first went looking for gear on there, I was only looking at iLevel of gear and making the purchases based on items that were the highest coin amount (23) and highest ilvl. Didnt even occur to me that lower would be the wrathful set items. Then when looking for new gear, I was always using the tab "trade" bc of buying gold etc, so forgot about the "store" tab. Crazy, I feel so stupid wasting all the $ for gear I really didnt want. I thought for sure we would have to grind officially to get the best PvP set in the game.

    Thanks again!
