Would also like to get your opinion on this, with emphasis on which is better for Wpvp while lvling.
What exactly you mean with "best"? Easiness, fastness, pure damage?
With heirlooms, I'd just go MM. You'll nuke the mobs and pet can't keep the aggro anyway with your DMG.
BM I'd recommend to new players or those who are slow to learn new classes. Pet offers nice level of security and deals respectable amount of damage while being the main focus of mobs. So you get to shoot your targets with low pressure.
Overall, I'd say both specs can be good.
There is no clearcut answer, if you are leveling at x1 xp rates without heirlooms then you would go for best talents instead of rushing Exotic pets. first five will go into BM tree, next five into MM tree etc, to inch out every ounce of boost per talent point and then go for reset at 60 to get exotic pet. at 70 you can respec into MM with with trap mastery and aoe farm in utgarde peak to get 3-4 levels until you get next pet talent point and unlock both ultimates. then respec into BM and continue to 80. It's better for random same level ganks as well, where you can just kite the opponent and let your pet kill the ganker. You will have a raptor till 60 and then devilsaur till 80. and for the brief aoe grind in utgarde keep you can use a dragonhawk for their aoe fire breath.
however if you are leveling on x7 and have heirlooms, just go MM. your pet won't be able to keep agro anyway. and you are just better off with MM to try to finish off mobs before they catch up to you under concussion shot. if you roll MM, go for ravager pet since start and keep it till 80.
BM is roughly better till Outland. Or as others said till you get good gear.
But dont get it wrong there isnt much of a difference, except in the way it is played. BM is more layed back, chill experience. MM is more involved through the use of feign death, disengage and slows.
BM has an advantage over MM when leveling. You get to play "AFK" and who doesnt want to have a pet who does all the work ?
BM is way better for leveling. It's not about the damage. It's the fact that your pet becomes a tank. You also get an extra stun and later on can have immunity to CC at any time.
The hunter dead zone is your biggest leveling enemy. Pulling threat on mobs from your pet and having to melee them. It turns into an annoying struggle of disengage and traps and misdirection and feign death etc. If your pet is tanky though you can just chill and let it do the work.
imho BM is way safer and faster: get a Bear since its a tenacity pet + double aoe damage (thunderstomp from talents + swipe), you can aoe pull and have a pet that is tankier than most of the players at lower levels. Also you get an extra 3s stun, CC immunity and a burst that is unrivaled for killing elites and other players as well. Also, Invigoration will provide you infinite mana while Aspect Mastery will punish you way less by using Aspect of the Viper, while MM you'll mana dry quite more often.
