? [Addon] HideFactions – Filter /say and /yell by faction (WotLK 3.3.5)

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing a small utility addon I created for Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5: HideFactions
– a lightweight addon that allows you to hide /say and /yell messages from one faction or the other.


✨ Features:

������ Hide Alliance messages (/say, /yell)

������ Hide Horde messages (/say, /yell)

������ Optional movable icon with tooltip

������️ Simple in-game options panel (Interface > Addons > HideFactions)

������ Settings are saved per character


������ How it works:

The addon filters chat messages based on the language used (Common, Orcish, etc.). You can choose to block Alliance, Horde, or display both.
It’s especially useful on PvP servers or for immersion-focused players who want to reduce faction-related chat clutter.


������️ Controls:

Left-click the icon → drag to reposition

Right-click the icon → open the options panel

Tooltip shows current filter status (Horde/Alliance: Shown or Hidden)


⚙️ Options (per character):

Show/Hide Alliance messages

Show/Hide Horde messages

Show/Hide the icon

Reset icon position

Download the addon folder HideFactions here :

Unzip and Place it in your InterfaceAddOns directory

Restart the game or reload UI (/reload)

This is awesome! Thank you for creating this. Now I can actually hang out in Dalaran without unwanted and unintelligible chat flooding and blocking my chat windows. Very simple to install and use, as well. Double thumbs up!

Agreed, good addon. Finally I can AFK in Dala in peace instead of seeing zug zug in red.
