1. Random Error 132 & 134

I'm getting random crashes when attempting to log in with both error 132 and error 134. What i mean by random is that it doesn't happen every time, even for the same character without moving them. I'll log into 1 character at the Argent tournament just fine, but then when i try logging out and back into a character in Dalaran, i get one of these 2 errors. restart wow and start with the character in Dalaran and it's fine. I cant figure a rhyme or reason for the errors. on the 134 errors, the file it fails to read isn't consistent either.

The PC is windows 11. drivers all updated. it was working flawlessly a year ago, but i took a break until now. I've used LAA already. I unchecked read only for the head folder, the exe, and the data folder. I've deleted everything and started with a fresh install with no interface or WTF folders and no addons. I've tried windows 7 compatibility. I've given all permissions and run as administrator. I've scoured these forums and tried numerous random fixes, but the issue persists. Considering nothing changed in the client folder, it seems like something on Windows side must have changed, but i've scanned the disc, cleaned the registry, run the memory diagnostic all coming back clean. I even turned off firewall and the windows virus protection temporarily. I'm not sure what else to do. Pasting an example of the 2 errors below.

This application has encountered a critical error:

    ERROR #134 (0x85100086) Fatal Condition
Program: C:UserscfnieSaved GamesWorld of Warcraft 3.3.5aWow.exe

Failed to read file interfacegluesmodelsui_mainmenu_northrendui_mainme nu_northrend.m2.

This application has encountered a critical error:

    ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:UserscfnieSaved GamesWorld of Warcraft 3.3.5aWow.exe
    Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0023:00814756

The instruction at "0x00814756" referenced memory at "0x8C000008".
The memory could not be "read".

  2. Probably a hardware issue.

  3. No hardware changed. it worked flawlessly in the past. wasn't working after a hiatus. pc is relatively new (3 years GeForce RTX 4070 & i9 processor) and every scan i do is clean.

  4. Not sure if this will fix it, but it’s worth a try:
Download a fresh client, extract the folder, move it to your desktop, then right-click the folder, uncheck “Read-only,” and run the game.
i just think your client has corrupted file + some permission issue, could be a third party software using the game's folder like bittorrent so make sure its not running in the background

  5. If it's i9 make sure your CPU is okay with Prime95.

  6. Tried it and no dice. same issue.
Update, i ran the pc in safe mode with networking and it did not have errors. I re-ran it in safe mode with my wtf and interface folders and no errors. I went back to regular mode and turned my graphics card off, but that didn't resolve the issue, just made it run way worse. It doesn't seem like any files are corrupt, it seems like some windows update is messing with it and whatever that feature is turns off in safe mode. I've added the exe as an exception to windows defender and firewall, but that doesn't help either. I guess the next step is to compare what services are off in safe mode that are on in normal mode.

also i neglected to mention my stress test method. I try to log in and out on each character from top to bottom and then back up. I'm calling a success getting through them all. like i said, it's random so not a consistent character or area is causing the problem. sometimes the first log in attempt, more often it's like the 3rd character

  7. I still think it's a hardware issue. Try running Prime95 for a while using the "Small FFTs" setting and see if some of the cores fail to run the test after a while.

  8. I will give this a try this evening, but everything else runs fine including much more intense games, so I doubt I have a cpu issue. I think this is some weird 3rd party software/bloatware interfering honestly, but not sure how to troubleshoot other than manually. Even used gpedit to turn defender and firewall off to no avail.

  9. No issue with the cores they all say torture test still after several minutes. any other ideas. i don't think it's hardware related. again this exact machine ran it flawlessly about a year ago and can run it without crashing in safemode with networking.

  10. If it's run on safeboot(witch one?), that mean you have software/pilot matter. Then do a compar, list of stuff running between both. Then you need to know what each of the stuff you list do to be able to diagnose and try to eliminate it one by one.

btw in this mode you'll have no network or a very low (depends what safeboot you use) because it's only load few pilots.
