Severe Chat Moderation needed on Onyxia

It cant be just me right? Or is literally all of world chat on Onyxia Alliance just racism, bigotry, and homophobia that the admins do nothing about?

Some of those things are bannable and can be reported, but it's also healthy for you to ignore the things you don't like.

Dont get me wrong, the boosting on icecrown is abysmal, so is the GS reqs, thats why I came to ony to level everything to 70 pre WOTLK. That being said, I wind up just leaving global on all my characters unless I absolutely NEED to use it simply because of how horrible the chats are. Most of the things being said are bannable, but there isnt anyone moderating it at all. And reporting someone takes 3 days to get the response of "we will look into it" just to lead to a 1 day ban... its tragic. There just needs to be more admins on the server to prevent certain kinds of behaviours that cause new players to want to quit.

I think you just need to read the back of the box that says "Online experience may change during online play" under the rating. You're going to be exposed to all sorts of things.

There's an actual shirt you can buy that says "I Survived Barrens Chat". That exists for a reason. The LFG chat on Classic is hilariously bad as well. There is no amount of moderators you can hire to control it. If it really offends you that bad yup just add people to the ignore list and move on. Welcome to the internet.

Moderation of racism, sure. Bigotry? Define it first. It'll likely not fall within reasonable territory.
Also, not about to moderate someone for being "afraid" of something else. Which, by the way, yes, a "phobia" is an irrational fear of something and is very unlikely to be what you're actually speaking to the effect of.

He's not wrong about the /global channels desperately needing moderation though. Or at least channel rules. Like no trading of boosts and characters. That alone would relax the situation a bit. Then, trading of items and recruiting for guilds should be next. There's dedicated channels for those purposes, anyone who wants to recruit, needs a guild or wants to trade can join those. Right now, /global on icecrown is simply unusable. Lordaeron is a bit better, but there still needs to be something done about the situation.
