1. Big connection problems from South America

Hi, lately there have been big connection problems from South America. We get disconnected after some minutes of playing at prime time (evening/night) and have huge lag spikes if we don't.

This is something also happening to us in other private servers (i don't know if i can name them, but the big ones) at the same exact time, we tested it and we get disconnected at literally the same time from all of them. This is not related to our own internet connection or provider, this is affecting people from different countries (Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil...) at the same time and in the same way.

One of the other private servers, also hosted in France as Warmane (so i assume you probably use the same host) has just made this announcement:

"We are aware that players in areas of NA/SA are experiencing lag/disconnects during some evenings.
This is caused by a routing issues with our host database provider through different locations in that part of the world. Sadly - there is nothing we can do directly about this for the moment - and generally it goes away on its own after some time.
We are in the process however of ordering a new secondary host near NA/SA for the future, so individuals can route through there instead as necessary which should fix things - and we will let you know when it is ready."

Again, this is not an issue on our end, it's a general problem between South America and your host. The game is not playable like this, we get disconnected constantly at prime time (evening/night). We need help, is there something you can do for us? Using a secondary host, a proxy or something to force a different routing? Using a VPN is not a realistic solution for many of us. Other private servers are trying to find a solution for this, so i wanted to know if you can do the same as Warmane is our main server where we usually play.

    Thank you!

  2. Can atest to this, i am European but play in a Brazilian guild due to raid schedules, and as of late, while i have stable 40ms, we are having 4 hour ICC runs because we keep having people spiking to 16k ms or simply having like 10-15 people disconnect at the same time, and end up chilling for 30 mins until everyone is stable, for it to happen again a few moments later.

These are people from different cities in Brazil, different providers, most even using one sort of VPN or another to try and go around this (like NoPing or ExitLag, among others).

  3. I submitted a ticket about it and they replied that it's only me.

  4. I'm having this problem everyday. Right now, I've been disconnected 5x.

  5. Copy-paste:

Lag here, All the other games with an internet connection work fine, streaming, downloads, everything. The only thing that doesn’t work well is Warmane, with several weird spikes per hour of 1500–2000 MS that last a couple of minutes and then improve on their own. My internet is fine, everything else works as usual and other online games too.
So the issue lies somewhere between your PC and service provider's host. It's the same for all who usually have connection issues while others don't. There's wide range of possible causes, usually it's not fixable by user turning their router on/off. What you can do is try resetting your router, or at least turn it on/off for a bit, VPN and eventually calling your ISP to ask them if they can identify the issue. Not sure if you could get any answers from Warmane's host (if that info is readily available anywhere). You could also try IP release, renew and DNS flush if you're keen on getting it fixed and want to go through your options.

  6. Hi guys, this started happening again. Since last week lots of players from Argentina in my guild (including me) are disconnected regularly at night (around 20:00 ST to 01:00 ST). I know this isn't your fault nor our service provider's fault (our internet connection works perfectly). The issue is somewhere between the nodes connecting Argentina and Europe.

I don't really understand perfectly how does this really work, but i wanted to know if it would make any difference if you tried something to force a re-routing, like a relay/proxy server that drives the connection through a different path that works better. I know other known private server also hosted in Europe did this for South American players because they were having this same issue, they created new nodes in New York and Brazil to let players drive their connection through them and test which one worked best:

    "SA players:
For those of you experiencing occasional lag/disconnects for the past couple of days - we have a solution we have now setup.
You can now go through a different connection node which should help alleviate these issues."

Just wanted to know if this is something you can do or if it would make any difference, but again i know this isn't your fault so it's ok if you can do nothing about it. We just want to be able to play, we love Warmane and we are really looking forward to play Onyxia WotlK without connection issues.
