1. Warmane Staff Question - Store

Why does the Warmane store offer different purchasable toys (Ogre Pinata) etc. between Lordaeran and Icecrown? Why restrict certain non-competitive items between two similar servers?

  2. The two realms are not similar in terms of the shop. The bulk of the shop is unavailable for Lordaeron, and that is intended.

  3. bcparker1 was asking about the toys, though. Since OP mentioned https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=46780 as an example, I can buy it on Lordearon:

    but not on Icecrown:

Is this also intended? I am aware that there's an option in the store called "Item not in store? Let us know", where I can submit a suggestion for including new items in the store. However, a couple of months ago I also submitted the suggestion to add the Ogre Pinata to the Icecrown store, and it's still not there.

  4. However, a couple of months ago I also submitted the suggestion to add the Ogre Pinata to the Icecrown store, and it's still not there.
Because #1 it's simply a suggestion; #2 aside seasonal or progressive servers, the Store is hardly ever changed as there aren't really any necessary/"core" items left out that we would consider adding in the first place; and #3 when it's changed, it's never one item here or there because someone suggested it, changes usually get implemented in bigger batches when there's a sufficient amount, again as what's left out isn't really anything in huge demand.

  5. So in the case of Ogre Pinata being available to Lordaeron and absent to Icecrown, is this intentional or is it an oversight with potential for future correction? There are numerous items available to Lordaeron that aren't on the Icecrown store.

  6. My guess is it's more than likely an oversight - although it could be an oversight both ways, bringing attention to this could get them removed from Lordaeron's shop instead.

  7. That would be unfortunate. Toys remaining unavailable for 10+ years (not even available during custom events) is kinda depressing and I want to understand the logic behind it.

  8. If you were to ask me personally, from your Ogre Pinata example, because it was a TCG item. It's something supposed to be rare and I'd keep it like that, making it a rare prize for the winner of some special event, not have it available for anyone who grinds a little while and sells some gold.

  9. And that would be fine, but it's never provided for custom event rewards either.

  10. It is intentional, exactly as Mercy said.

  11. Which is fine. I'm just trying to get some insight as to why Lordaeron has access to these toys while Icecrown doesn't. Any idea why Warmane decided this?

  12. Because Lordaeron hasn't all the items available to Icecrown players, their store is very limited, so it is like an incentive. That's what I read it was years ago and I don't think the idea behind it changed through the years.

  13. I will ask if toys could come to other realms stores, since the lotery apparently only gets mounts.

  14. Thanks for looking into the matter, Palutena.

  15. Thank you!

Adding to the Icecrown store or Lottery would be amazing. The Lottery feature could include so much more, for example...
Here's everything I found searching Lordaeron and Icecrowns stores. (None of the below listed items are obtainable ingame).

    Lordaeron Exclusives:
Ogre Pinata, Perpetual Purple Firework, D.I.S.C.O, Soul-Trader Beacon, Hippogryph Hatchling, Rocket Chicken, Banana Charm, Tuskarr Kite, Spectral Tiger Cub, Reins of the Spectral Tiger, Brewfest Ram.

    Unobtainable Entirely:
Instant Statue Pedestal, Foam Sword Rack, Golden Pig Coin, Red Dragon Orb, Green Dragon Orb, Alarming Clockbot, Competitor's Souvenir, Polar Bear Collar, Scorched Stone, Silver Pig Coin, Zipao Tiger.
