1. Choosing which server to play

Hello, im new to wotlk, want to start playing it in warmane, but not sure which server to choose, icecrown or onyxia. I want to experience end game, dont care about leveling much. The main point is, is it hard to start getting into raids on icecrown, because i dont know anything about them? If you will offer onyxia, do you think it will be "alive" same as icecrown or people will slowly move to other servers after end game? Now its pretty hard to even find rdf in onyxia. Thank you!

  2. Don't care about leveling, want to raid = Icecrown, easy. 7x lvling speed + majority pop are here to raid. And overall most populated server.

Is it hard to get into raiding in Icecrown: somewhat, but it's not gonna much simplier in onyxia. When taking into account population, then onyxia is harder for forming raids.
I also started with 0 knowledge like a year ago or less. And with no item buying for real cash, guilds or boosting services have multiple 6k+ chars(which is like gear score where u are "allowed" to enter pug full heroic modes on endgame raids.). So its obviously not impossible to get into raiding for noobs. And I was just pugging it.

Onyxia benefits: you will get to try ALL the raids, when icecrown is only end game content on loop. After onyxia finishes wotlk your chars will be migrated to Icecrown.

  3. General tips for Icecrown:
1-15lvl: mine copper while u are running around in starting zone. Easy mega gold boost.
15-70: just spam RDF. Highly suggested to take some proffesions. Tailoring+enchanting when spamming RDF will be free gold literally for doing nothing. For raiding Engineering is best though. You can also just drop tailoring+enchating when u reach max level. But really u will get so much cloth from RDF spam, which u can turn to more expensive disenchanted dust.
70-80: questing will be faster then leveling. But still do RDF for dungeon quests for ez blue gear.

fresh 80: go buy blue gear on auction until u meet requirement for RDF HC. Avoid RDF normal like plague.
    then just follow this:

    Entry-raid 80:
Watch/read tutorials about Raid bosses and what your class need to do. RDF HC dungeons u can just wing it. You can't just wing it in raids without screwing people over.

There will be alt runs that focus on killing first 6 ICC bosses with low gear requirements. That will be first ICC raids that u can enter. After some time when your gear rises you will be able to enter better pubs and so on. Or you can just find a guild for noobs. From my exp such guilds are not a good time though, but thats just my experience.

Since u can only do 2 ICC raids per week on a char you basically want to have as many alts as u want to play each week. So like if u wanna play 5 days per week for up to 4 hours then 2 chars will be enough.

I left a lot of nuances, but a lot u can already find in forums. Last note if u dont care about being DPS,Tank, Healer -> i would go for a healer. Making mistakes as healer is not raid-wipe material usually like playing tank and they have much faster dungeon queue times then DPS.
