1. Which DPS Shaman is more desired in raids, Enhancement or Elemental?

Resto is my off-spec, and I only intend to play it if needed by a guild. It will NOT be my main raid spec.

Lordaeron Server, Orc race with Engineering and Alchemy. Currently leveling as Enhancement, will re-eveluate at 40 once I get dual-spec and transfer my other looms.

  2. You'll have a much easier time as Rsham.
DPS shaman is pretty unpopular and usually not sought after in raids because other classes already cover their raid buffs and deal more dps. EnH has high skill ceiling but is able to deal solid dmg in good hands. Ele is generally weak and only needed when raid has no BL or demo lock.

As I said, I'll play Rsham in a guild if said guild needs a healer that raid, but I'm playing a Shaman to do damage, not heal. Healing has never been an interesting role for me.

So I guess it'll be Enhancement then. Probably benefits more from Engineering anyway (Rocket Punch and Grenades).

  4. Healing has never been an interesting role for me.
It's likely that you'll end up healing most of the time because the demand for DPS shaman is thin.

You should use Hyperspeed Accelerators as Glove enchant. Not Hand-Mounted Pyro Rocket.
If you want to roll Enh be aware that it has the most complex DPS rotation of all classes and when gearing up you'll always have to keep your melee crit cap into account.
Most ppl fail to play enh properly and deal sucky dps. Thats why the spec has a pretty bad reputation and most pug raids won't want you in the raid.

Enhance, Ele is useless and should never be brought into the raid if you have something else to bring.

  6. Somebody needs to do a flowchart to show how many steps there are for a raid to actually want either Ele/Enha Shaman.

  7. Enhance, Ele is useless and should never be brought into the raid if you have something else to bring.
This is the kind of mentality on Lordaeron that worries me. So much elitism and class/spec bias, in a game where the content has been gutted to the bone and just about any composition will work.

If I wanted to play a healer I'd roll a Druid, because I much prefer their Resto over a Boomie.

I was told Pyro Rocket is necessary because the Enhancement Shaman has a constant struggle with skills being on cooldown, and you need Rocket and Grenades to fill the gaps so you're never waiting on a cooldown. I'm also told that once you hit the softcap for Haste, the Accelerators are largely useless.

Why would you willingly bring one if not the lowest viable raid spec into a raid when you have much better alternatives?

pyro rocket is worthless in pve whoever told you to enchant that has no idea what they are talking about, you ALWAYS want engi haste on gloves if you have engineering. You will never notice the damage from rocket and overall engi haste is just bis enchant for every dps/healer

  10. Why do you need to bring only the most optimized specs in a game this gutted and defragmented to the point where literally any composition will work? Again, that's elitism and racial/spec snobbing, and that's never good for the lifespan of a server or its community.

And how is the haste clicky still good if you're already haste-capped through your gear?

  11. EnH has no haste cap or more precisely, it's so high that it's impossible to reach.
Enhancement Shaman has a constant struggle with skills being on cooldown, and you need Rocket and Grenades to fill the gaps so you're never waiting on a cooldown.
The opposite is the case. There is barely any gap of a free GCD because EnH has a insane amount of abilities which CDs you need to keep track of. The DPS rotation requires much more attention than of most other classes. Thats why EnH is only recommended to experienced players.

You alredy got the answer for haste answered above.
As for why ele is unwanted its quite simple, it does not bring anything unique to the raid that is not alredy filled by another class/spec. Ontop of that ele shaman even at full bis has very low dps compared to other viable specs, its just alot better to play enhance and it does genuinely very good dps.
Dont get me wrong im very much a ele enjoyer myself: https://armory.warmane.com/character...ecrown/summary

  13. Admittedly, I am finding Enhance more fun. Originally I was worried that it would be too much of a pain having to manage two different sets of gear, but I guess I'd have to do the same thing with Ele anyway, and Enhance gear is much easier to distinguish from Resto gear.

Seems like Enh handles better in field content/questing too. So I'll stick with that then and simply transfer the looms for Resto at 40. I have two Venerable hammers with Crusader waiting at 40 as well, but I'm using the Repurposed Lava Dredger until then.

  14. That's why I did not like Elemental, it was so boring to play. Just spam Lightning Bolt while firing off the occasional Flame Shock and Lava Burst. That was literally it.

  15. Although boring, ELE outperforms ENH by a mile at every point of the endgame content.

At the end of the day, it all depends on your playstyle and the guild you're playing in.
