WotLK Cannot make DK even though I have 3 levl 80s.

Im trying to make a DK on Onyxia and it says I need a level 55 character on ANY realm to make a Death Knight. I have friends who were able to make a Death Knight as their first character on Onyxia from their 80s on Icecrown. I have 3 level 80s on Icecrown, yet I cannot make a Death Knight on Onyxia.

Anyone have any ideas?

No one is able to create one without having a level 80 character in the server where they want to create one.
It would be especially absurd to allow that on a progressive server like Onyxia.

The message is hardcoded in the client because that's how it worked in blizzards servers but it does not work that way here.
