Thank you to the Warmane team for keeping Warmane accessible and genuinely fun to play.

That said, I wanted to share my experience purely as information, especially for Canadian and U.S. players, b/c the donation process was far more complicated than expected.
CONTEXT: I’m currently in Canada for a few weeks. My first attempt was buying a CVS e-gift card and entering it on Warmane... only to find out later that e-gift cards aren’t accepted.
Next, I tried using a prepaid Visa card. Unfortunately, there’s no option to pay with prepaid Visa. Using the regular Visa credit card option simply returns an “unauthorized” error. I wasn’t comfortable entering my real credit card details, so that wasn’t an option for me either.
That left PaysafeCard as the only alternative, which turned into a freaking HEADACHE. The setup process was very convoluted, requiring signing up and a buggy website (wouldn't go past login stage a couple times). Even after successfully topping up my account with sufficient balance, I kept receiving the error:
“You already topped up this PIN.”
Despite everything being done correctly, the payment still wouldn’t go through.
To recover the funds, I had to use Recharge.com (apparently a PayPal website) to send the balance back and convert it into Steam credits instead. Between activating the prepaid card (~$5) and additional processing fees from either Recharge or Paysafe (another ~$5), I ended up losing about $10 just in fees.
Thankfully, I have family in the U.S. who can pick up a physical CVS card for me (should have it tomorrow), but overall this was a pretty frustrating and unintuitive process.
Hopefully this helps other North American players avoid the same issues.
