40K Gold disappeared

Literally 20 minutes ago I logged into the game as usual and saw that I didn't have 76K gold on my char as I did 8 hours ago, but only 36K gold.

I farmed this gold for about a month to exchange for coins and buy a mount for the first time. I never bought gold and never sold it,
I also never exchanged gold for coins. You can check ALL my trading logs by checking the trades of all my characters if you want.

There's no explanation for where my 40,000 gold disappeared to.
Can I find out what happened? Because I have no guarantee that all my things might disappear tomorrow, and then what?

They cut everyone's gold in half, to curb inflation. It was announced like two weeks ago, and they do it every year.

You didn't really lose anything, because the price for coins will be half of what it was as well.
