WotLK What do i do at this point in the game

This is the first character I’ve gotten to max level and actually tried to reach endgame with. I was progressing pretty well, but I hit a wall and don’t really know what to do now. When I run heroic dungeons, I don’t get anything better or worth my time. I do get emblems, I guess, but those feel super tedious to farm.

I assume I’m supposed to get into some starter raids at this point, but I have no clue how to even begin getting into those. I haven’t played this character in about six months because I just didn’t know what to do. I felt so clueless that I ended up just completing every quest I could find in Northrend.

TL;DR: Hit max level, progressed a bit, then got stuck. Heroics don’t feel rewarding, I don’t know how to get into raids, and I stopped playing because I had no direction.

First, the spellpower mail legs you using isn't good for a hunter. farm some gold and buy this Draconic Bonesplinter Legguards
replace Cloak of Holy Extermination with Hammerhead Sharkskin Cloak from emblems vendor.
Also , you must farm Icecrown citadel ring from a reputation farm (easy to find one)

Also replace your weapon (Runeblade of Demonstrable Power) to Orca-Hunter's Harpoon From halls of reflection heroic , or with Tower of the Mouldering Corpse from the forge of souls normal.

i haven’t done much research, but these should be solid upgrades for you. You should also be able to join Trial of the Crusader 25 once you reach around 5k gear score , which you will after farming a few of the items I mentioned.

Also, make sure to do the Vault of Archavon raid. You can usually join it anytime, as most groups don’t care too much about your gear for that one.

You are in the pre-raid gear farming period, and it kind of sucks, I know! But here are a few tips to progress your character to be ready for the ICC raids:
- farm normal ICC dungeons, called Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron and Halls of Reflection: Boss kills in these dungeons give ilvl 219 gear as well as Emblems of Triumph, which you can purcahse ilvl 245 gear from Dalaran vendors as well as Tier 9 gear pieces.
- do the daily Heroic version of these dungeons for even better ilvl 232 gear and Emblems of Frost, which are used to purchase even more powerful gear from Dalaran vendors.
- do the weekly Vault of Archavon 10/25 man raids for some Emblems of Frost and a chance to get Tier 10 gear pieces.
- when you reach around 5k gearscore, you can start looking at Trial of the Crusader 10/25 raids, which will further progress your character with some nice drops. Join /global channel and search for pug groups that are looking to do these raids.
- try to join some Ulduar runs, they happen every so often. Ulduar drops up to ilvl 239 gear.
- BIGGEST TIP: TRY TO JOIN A RAIDING GUILD! It can really help stepping into ICC.

Additional tips:
You haven't really mentioned which realm you are playing on, but looking at players around your screenshot, I assume it's either Icecrown or Lordaeron. If you are on Icecrown, you can also vote daily on the Warmane website (under 'My Account') and recieve vote points - which can be used to purcahse up to ilvl 239 gear on the store!

Your biggest mistake is thinking doing heroics is worthless, i can see you dont have trinket from FoS, banner of victory is also good trinket. You dont play dungeons just for gear that is dropping there, you are farming emblems at the same time which is most important thing at this point for you.

I’ve been joining some raids I found in general chat, but they’re pretty infrequent. I’m still looking for a raiding guild. In the meantime, are there any items I should buy from the emblem vendors or the AH? I currently have 3.3k gold, 38 Emblems of Frost, and 62 Emblems of Triumph.

1) Do what they told you about the weapon. Do fos n until you get the staff and hor hc once a day until you get the polearm.
2) You need Rock-Steady Treads from the AH, but they will cost you significantly more than 3.3k
3) With eots you have to start buying your main set
4) You need Needle-Encrusted Scorpion from fos hc
5) Farm toc n until you get Banner of Victory
6) You need the ashen ring, so do icc rep
7) Don't waste your eofs on anything that isn't your main set
