1. Am I going to get ban?

Hi. I want to sincerely apologize for the situation with the staff that dropped in the dungeon.

I rolled on the two-handed staff because I thought it would increase my damage and it was better than the axe I currently have. I'm still new to the game and didn’t know that Fury Warrior talents that allow using two two-handed weapons do not apply to staves.

There was no intention to ninja loot. As far as I saw, no one selected “Need” on the item and everyone pressed “Greed,” so I thought it was okay to roll for it.

If I misunderstood the rules or the situation, I’m really sorry. It was an honest mistake and not done on purpose.

  2. Well, if somebody reported it with valid evidence a few day ban may happen. But if nobody reported it (properly) nothing will happen.

  3. One player told me that he will report me on that 25g staff and that he has a screenshot and that I will get banned soon for this.
I rolled on the staff because it looked like an upgrade compared to my axe, not because I wanted to ninja loot.
Also, as far as I saw, nobody pressed “Need” and everyone selected “Greed”, so I thought it was okay to roll.
I just want to say that it was an honest mistake and I had no intention of breaking any rules. If I misunderstood something, I sincerely apologize.

  4. If he reported you you will get banned for a few days. No amount of apologies will get you out of it. Wait until the ban expires and don't do it again.

In the meantime, read the rules: https://forum.warmane.com/showthread...=1#post2651922

  5. I understand your point, but I want to clarify the situation. I rolled on the item because it looked like an upgrade for me and I’m still relatively new to the game. There was no intention to ninja loot anything.

From what I saw, nobody pressed “Need” on the item and everyone selected “Greed”, so the roll was handled by the game system normally. I didn’t take the item from someone who needed it.

One player said he would report me and that he has a screenshot, but I didn’t intentionally break any rules. It was not done on purpose.

  6. Not knowing the rules does not mean you get to break them. You were supposed to read and understand the rules before you began playing.

  7. I understand the rules now and I appreciate the moderators taking the time to respond quickly. I have read the policy and I will definitely be more careful in the future.

However, I want to say that it feels very discouraging as a new player when a lack of knowledge about the game and its mechanics can turn into a situation like this. I rolled Need on the staff because I honestly believed it was an upgrade compared to my current axe. I did not do it with the intention of ninja looting or taking something valuable from someone else.

What makes it even more disappointing is that some players report situations like this even when they do not need the item themselves. Even if the staff were sold to a vendor, it would only be worth around 25 gold. It feels unfair when players use the rules specifically to get someone banned instead of simply explaining the mistake to a newer player.

Unfortunately, sometimes server rules can be used in a negative way to target or mock another player after they get banned, rather than helping them learn. I wonder if it could also make sense to consider the value or importance of an item when deciding punishments, since situations like this can happen purely because of inexperience.

That being said, I respect the rules and I understand them much better now. Thank you again for the clarification and the quick responses. I will definitely be more careful in the future and make sure something like this does not happen again.

yup, some people just love being dicks and abuse the report system to ban people for honest mistakes and things that could be handled very easily by being decent human beings. I have seen too many cases where someone won something (needed for os or whatever) over someone else, then instantly offered to trade it, but instead of accepting the trade the other person prefered to go on a little power trip and report the guy who won it instead, because a ****ty upgrade ingame doesnt give them the same amount of self worth as being able to ban another player. The sad part is that they wont give the context in the report, so it can easily look legitimate. I hope for you that he made a mistake in the report, and good luck in the future
