1. How much does latency impact Death Knight DPS? Am I hardcapped by latency?

    Hi guys, I play on warmane, at 250ms. How much does latency impact on rotations and DPS? Like even tank and spank fights such as DBS or Lord Marrowgar. I'm BiS, but for the life of me I can't "push" into 23k dps territory like what I see over on youtube guides or class showcase. I've tried all 3 classes of Death knight, all with smourne or BiS. Unholy DK was like 20k dps on Saurfang, Blood DPS was like 21k+ dps and my best DK performance was recently my FDK, I was able to push 22k+ DPS on a relatively short fight in DBS. But is that it? Am I doing something wrong on my rotations or am I handicapped by latency?

    I do a lot of gimmic stuff to midmax my thing, like snapshotting my army of the dead with hasted gems and haste gear etc. pre-pot pulling, timing my engineering gloves with my cooldowns etc. Black magic haste weapon switching etc. you name it, just to squeeze out the last bit of DPS, yet it feels like I'm falling short.

  2. Yes, ping affects everything you do and nothing will make you "improve". With 250 ms I wouldn't even bother playing. Where are you even from that you get such high latency? Unless you're from Easter Island you should be getting 150 - 180 MAX.

    250ms is rough, but DK specs (unless very optimized) are not GCD capped, and more importantly, they have rune grace. This means that unlike casters, where every delayed input pushes all subsequent casts back for the rest of the encounter, DK has a built-in buffer that absorbs latency to a meaningful degree.

    That said, latency clearly does impact gameplay, and fights with movement, cleave, or tight timing windows like LK are genuinely harder at 250ms. But the bosses you mentioned are essentially target dummies, and if you're not hitting the numbers you're expecting there, latency is probably not the primary culprit.
