Technical unable to login/connect

hello everyone

coming back to warmane after a long while and i waited 3 hours for it to install on my computer, only to open it up, log in and be stuck connection for a few seconds before i get the "unable to connect, please try again later". i've tried to look up if the server is down, but as far as i've seen it isn't (please correct me if i am mistaken here). anyway, just wondering what could cause this issue and how to fix it.

it isn't a device issue, this thing runs far heavier games than world of warcraft (wotlk at that) and my internet connection is stable across all other platforms. so, whatever the case may be, please drop your advice/opinions. thanks.

I've started experiencing connection problems today that look like: I enter my password, it starts connection and I get the list of servers that I can choose but can't obtain character's list.

very odd, i had my brother try to sign into his account and he's in another city atm and he had the same popup message i did. i've been checking consistently and haven't seen anyone else bring up the error. i'm wondering if maybe it was unannounced maintenance or just unexpected server connection issues. i'm also hoping it has no correlation to blizzard shutting down turtlewow.

Hi, i have the same issue, I play regularly on my house and on my work, was playing normally on job PC and now im on my home and after login I cant pass the "retrieving character list" screen, it takes forever there and doesnt move forward so I cant play.
I checked the realmlist and its OK, checked my house pc IP configuration and nothing odd, so I dont know either whats happening.

I change the realmlist to this one:

set realmlist logon.warmane.com
set patchlist logon.warmane.com
and now im in!!!!!!!!!!!
when i have the problem my realmlist was:
set realmlist logon.warmane.com

maybe that was the problem

I dunno what was that yesterday but I've managed to login smoothly at the moment (didn't change any file).

Hey guys, I've just signed up for warmane and when I attempt to login to the game using my working website username/pw i get this message:
"Unable to connect, Please try again later, if the problem persists, please contact technical support at:{old blizz link}".

I have tried changing stuff in the Config.wtf such as
SET realmlist "logon.warmane.com"
SET patchlist "logon.warmane.com"

instead of the
SET realmlist "logon.warmane.ru"
SET patchlist "logon.warmane.com"
that it keeps reverting to..

Please help

Right click config.wtf and select properties. Under general -tab there's "Read-Only" checked. Uncheck that.
