    ENH spec gemming

    Hi,

I've been playing ENH for a while now, i just hit 6k gearscore but I always struggle to be in the top half dps. At first I was putting haste gems everywhere because according to the online guides (warcraft tavern, icy veins, wowhead) it was the best stat to invest in.

After that, I heard about the expertise cap, so I changed some gems into expertise. It's better but I'm still behind.

Now I noticed a few enh shams only gem for agility or attack power, and they always do great.

Was there a change in the meta since guides were written ? Is it now better to use only agility or attack power gems ?

My sham is named Buldurine, if you want to look at my gear on the armory tool.

    Thanks in advance !

Depending on how much time you want to invest, I recommend

    1) joining the shaman classic discord and read the pins of the encha DPS wotlk channel as well as search for the words of your interest.

    2) look at the top logs + their chars in armour on uwu-logs for enchshaman for Icecrown, Lord, Onyxia to get a picture of how they are gearing, what they are gemming and what they are pressing.

Either way, it will be a long and thorny path, since encha shaman is both not respected and not very good on warmane, especially in Icecrown, where bis chars are rather easy to get.

Yes. Physic one uses haste as an unbearable standard
Spellhance is a new standard for shamans as they are more stable in terms of procs.
A ton of old guides are irrelevant or not full enough.

For those reasons made a fresh one to reference - https://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=487029

Personally, I wouldn’t choose Classic Shaman Discord for the Enhancement spec, due to some major differences in the meta there and in Warmane related to Fire Elemental, which, as you know, is the best offensive cooldown for Elemental/Enhancement shamans, if used at the right moment, thanks to its snapshot stat mechanic. The main difference is that in Classic, you could use Fire Elemental on every boss thanks to the cooldown reset mechanic that existed in Classic, and on top of that, you had Bloodlust available on every boss, where in Warmane you don’t have those advantages. This would change the meta gear setup for an Enhancement shaman from boss to boss and in the long run. Basically, if you want to master Enhancement, be prepared to make 3–4 different gear setups so you can switch dynamically between bosses and squeeze out every last point of DPS. This requires a lot of testing, experimentation, and a good sense of what would work best for Boss A or Boss B, depending on the cooldowns you have available from the very start, and so on. So, yes, specifically for Enhancement, there isn’t a single BiS setup. A simple example I can give you is for bosses like PP, where you have to constantly move around and switch targets, which makes recasting Magma Totem for Fire Nova really tedious, so the best option would be to make sure your Fire Elemental is available for such bosses or if not, then rely on burst Attack Power/Armor Penetration build where the stronger auto hits would compensate the damage loss from your Magma Totem/Fire Nova.
