To understand what i look for i want to say played Wotlk A LONG time ago, like 8 years ago lets say that. Been decent at pvp on arena tournament, at that time reached 2000 rating. Before AT server joined with Warmane.
I am 46 years old and im getting burned out. Its hard to pick up the game like i did 10 years ago. I have knowledge about classes but due to a long break... things arent as i expect probably.
Before i stress myself out leveling a character and spending a long amount of time gearing it, id like to know wich one to go for. I kinda hate starting an arena game and being downed in few seconds straight. I need a class that can last a bit. And dont give a damn crap if its not top 10 in armory. Screw that, i wanna enjoy the game. Not the game enjoy me.
I know there isnt really a tank in pvp enviroment and its more about making your own survival rate, but some classes tend to be more resilient.
Ive got a few picks, but theres a bit to consider when choosing them. Like how they do againt better skill teams (If i will get there at some point)
Just interested on what class out of what i point out would be more resilient in arena, and still have a chance to get to 2k rating or something like that.
My picks would be from Discipline priest, Balance druid, prot warrior, preg, fire mage.
The other specs i dont want to try them cause i already did in the past and i need something that i enjoy thats what MATTERS the most. Anyone could give me some pointers here ? Need a class that wont frustrate me to much, by dying to quick in arenas and leave me with a sour taste constant.
If you don't already have friends to play with on this server I would go for disc or preg at first. Both those specs are good for 2s since you can play with almost any class and spec. My main class is moonkin so for fun I'd of curse tell you to play boomy. Its very fun with a rogue in 2s and pretty strong vs warpal. Might be hard to find partners tho since most rogues just want to play spr. Fire mage is so much fun as well but also hard to find team mates. Fire is also way better for 3s than for 2s. Prot warrior I've got to day also looks very fun but tough to do well with starter gear.
My general tip if you're new to the server and don't have people to play with is to play a class/spec that has many good 2s combos (like disc/preg). Then once you've made some friends you can try other classes with them
Another tip would be to try the classes out on blackrock first since you get pretty good starter gear and instant 80. If you plan to mainly play PvP I would just play on blackrock (blackrock is old AT) since most people who play PvP play on blackrock
