Greetings, community and staff,
Dear Warmane staff, I would like to kindly ask you to review the decision mentioned in the Ahune cloak bug report https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/134291
I understand the reasoning behind Nobuemon's response that the Wrath-version cloaks were excluded because their item level is too high.
Earlier in the expansion, this would have made perfect sense, as 232 ilvl items from a seasonal event could have had a noticeable impact on progression.
However, the situation is quite different now. Ulduar has been out for quite some time, many players already have access to 239 ilvl cloaks, and Trial of the Crusader is scheduled to arrive on July 4th, with even stronger gear becoming available shortly after.
At the same time, a large portion of the playerbase is still using 226 ilvl cloaks. For those players, a 232 cloak would be a modest upgrade, but certainly not something game-breaking or overpowered. For example, I'm playing boomie with a 226 ilvl cloak, and the 232 for SP users is only ~5 EP points better.
I also think this would be especially beneficial for newer and returning players, which is perhaps the biggest point I had in mind when decided to write this ask. With ToC approaching, more people are joining the server and looking for ways to catch up. Seasonal events are a great opportunity to help those players become raid-ready without significantly affecting progression for established guilds.
Considering the current stage of progression, it feels like the ilvl 232 Ahune cloaks should not create any balance issues.
On the contrary, they could serve as a small but meaningful catch-up mechanism for the community during the transition between Ulduar and ToC.
Alternatively, perhaps you can consider 226 ilvl cloaks as a replacement, similar to how it was done during the Love is in the Air event. This would also help to catch up.
Thank you for your time and for considering this feedback.
