I confess that sometimes I wish to blast my university into oblivion, never to be found or rebuilt again. These so called historians. I have never seen so many ignorant fools in one place at the same time. They made my blood boil... Unfortunately for me, I had to sit all the way through this meeting.
You'd probably enjoy the company of my history teacher. He often laughs at popular beliefs over history and tells us how things supposedly really were, and he even corrects the books once in a while. He may be right, he may be wrong, but he follows the present society and history so tightly that I'd find it strange if he were wrong. He doesn't consider himself an expert, he's just doing his job, that's what makes him more believable than your generic "tight-capped scholar".
You'd probably enjoy his company, until he starts with the perverted comments.
I have nothing against perverted remarks as long as they are mindful, funny, intelligent as opposed to crude, straightforward and rude. I'd probably like your teacher :). I also laugh at popular beliefs because so many are so entirely wrong, it's funny. Many books are old and were not updated in tens of years and that is why I do not blame many of my colleagues, but at least they should not openly display their ignorance.
