Yeah, well, guess what. Don't have one of those. Long-distance relationship drama and me getting constantly hurt or heartbroken is not worth hoping and praying that person will be nice and give me something. Especially when I feel extremely bad asking for anything at all (it's how I was raised).

As for the giving part, to me my friends are everything. I give them more than I have even, since I don't need much. I feel 20x time more happy if I do something for a friend and he ends up happy than buying myself something since I barely find pleasure in it. You can ask me or wait for me to do it myself, makes little difference.
