  2. That's not even close to what I said. I said it makes her no less capable as a player, not compared to a professional. None of my speech was meant to compare her to a professional, which is utterly ridiculous since she doesn't care to be compared to them, nor is it fair to compare her to one of them.

When it comes to theory, however, you can have an opinion without playing at that level. I don't need to be a pro LCS player to be able to point out when Doublelift ruins teamfights or throws games, or argue with someone else on which team has better macro play and which team has better individual skill.
I was gonna write you a wall of text based on experience from mid to absolute top level of skill in some games I played, but I rather just keep it short. I won't go into OW as a topic either, cuz I play it 30 min after work once in a blue moon, so I'll keep it general because the basic system remains intact. You have literally no point, since you claim someone has a value with his/her opinion but you fail to provide any detail to what your evaluation is based on. If it isn't based on the top level of skill and knowledge, then what is it? Are you trying to say it's unfair to be compared to the highest level of skill, but it's fair to compare someone who's decent/good to someone who's mediocre/bad? And sure, you can have an opinion on something, feel free to have that. But reality looks different, if someone can show that his level of play is higher then yours, keep your mouth shut and learn. I didn't argue with my mentor at work, I didn't argue with dota 1 pros about tactics when I played HoN with them, it's about knowing your place and working your way up. If you have a point, let it be known and drop it. This is also the case if everyone is worse then you, let them know whats up, what you believe the issue is and then focus on yourself. That's why there are so many people stuck in certain brackets blaiming their teams, they rather focus on argueing instead of looking what little bit they can do better within the game they are currently losing (or possibly winning). Sometimes, tiny improvements in your own gameplay, can turn the tide.

And just to add this in, people in unranked generally do play worse, because there is a lot more to games like OW, dota, CS, etc. There's a lot of aspects to those games and some of them simply can not be improved in unranked matches for multiple reasons unrelated to player skill.

Don't be nervous, don't lose sleep the night before work and best of luck!

  3. That is a good idea or to give me his brand new PC. :D :D !!

I am like 90% memory capped on my laptop. I don't think OW will fit, since I had to uninstall HS. :(

Legion takes up like 60% of my memory. <.<
    What?
How small is your hdd? I have WoW installed on my 120GB SSD and it's just over 1/3rd of it.
No laptop post-2013 comes with anything less than 500MB HDD.

    You're missing two crucial points in this, Rick;

    1) He's being a little sucker - That's the thing that started his whole discussion and "solid arguments".

    2) This is the hypocrite that is now stating that skill can be found on casual matches, however, a few days earlier he was stating that a 845iLvL casual on WoW cannot outperform others and cannot do the raiding content provided in Heroic. I guess that for that specific aspect, skill doesn't count because he was getting exposed on his own flaws when probably he was one of those that couldn't do it either.

However don't expect any answer from him; He has already shown how he reacts when he gets contradicted with logic. He places you on his ignore list and cries about how things don't change in this thread.

The way I see it, everyone is allowed to play in the way they want to play. If people join competitive matches and they're still "new" they will be placed on lower tiers in order to develop among the players on their level. What's the problem with that? If that person is holding you back that means that you still belong on that rank as well because you're still being queued with those people. Not accepting this simple fact, specially when matchmaking systems are being improved in every single game, it's your own fault since you're denying the chance of your own development as a player.

So not true though, I've seen alot of laptops with only 500GB... even then lol, I have this one, 6 years old, with 600 GB, and I've got almost 500GB left to fill in it lol..

I think her laptop's a Mac though, right ? the macs I've seen have really low storage

Been job hunting for a while, decided to start tutoring. Best decision of my life. Ez money.

I would be super nervous. I've never done well in those situations. I'm always scared of screwing up and leaving a bad first impression for my co-workers and boss. Fortunately, I haven't had to find a new job for several years now.

    Yes, a Mac laptop. :(

A Mac laptop isn't bad for specific purposes, in fact, I have one for musical purposes since Logic Pro still isn't properly supported on Windows. I would only "curse you" if you told me that you bought it for gaming.

Sell old Mac laptop, buy new top end gaming rig! PROFIT!

Seriously though, the storage limits now a-days are ridiculously high. You could try using a USB3.0 external HDD to store things on, or run a virtual machine off of a thumb drive. Macs are great at some things, but gaming is not one of them :(

I'm really easy-going and I don't stress usually, but this job is quite demanding as I'll be working in an actual lab with actual high-tech and handing actual potentially hazardous materials, something I've only ever done in theory and under close supervision. Fortunately I'll be under training for a few weeks, it's not like jumping straight in. The salary is also extremely motivating to keep me in top form and, besides the awesome working conditions, it's only on a 7-hour a day schedule, weekends always free and no night shift at all, which is cool.

I wouldn't advise doing that. The Mac laptop that she owns can hold value in a near future since she might need it. Who knows? If the investment is done, let it be.

Oh, if she still needs it for things, then of course not. I was making the correlation that people still pay good money for a used MacBook, which she could use for a better PC gaming rig.

I think he may be referencing a recent situation of his where his laptop and desktop died in the same week. Having a back-up is always nice.
